Brasília, inaugurated as the capital of Brazil in 1960, is a planned city distinguished by its white and modern architecture, essentially designed by Oscar Niemeyer. Arranged in the shape of an airplane, its “fuselage” is the Monumental Axis, 2 wide avenues flanked by a huge park. In the “cockpit” is Praça dos Três Poderes, whose name comes from the 3 government agencies that surround it.

Candangolândia has this nomenclature due to the workers who were called candangos, however it already had different names before being established as the nineteenth administrative region of the DF in 1994, it was already called Lonalândia, Sacolândia and Vila dos Candangos, and only after got the name it currently has.

On December 16, 1992, District Law No. 385 authorized the implementation of the Águas Claras neighborhood in the administrative region of Taguatinga and approved the respective occupation plan. Designed by architect and urbanist Paulo Zimbres, Águas Claras began to be built shortly after its creation.

RA IV has the production of fruit and vegetables as its main economic source, being a reference in the Midwest in the planting and commercialization of strawberries. Strawberries are a reference in the city, which is the largest producer of the fruit in the Midwest, with more than five tons per year. Every year the traditional Strawberry Festival is held. In addition to them, other fruits and vegetables are harvested in the city, which supplies about 30% of the market in the DF (CORREIO BRASILIENSE, 2014). RA has an area of around 417 hectares for fruit production and 14 hectares for grain production.

Brazlândia is one of the oldest administrative regions of the Federal District (DF), and, although the participation of elderly people is greater than the average for the DF, according to the PDAD (2021), the young population is still significant, given that the majority focuses on the 0-14 and 15-30 age groups.

The city — recognized as a center of Northeastern culture in Brasília — is marked by the music, poetry and dance brought by its founders.

Gama was designed to have five sectors, each with a different specialty.

There are residential and commercial areas in the West Sector. In the East Sector, what predominates is commerce and industry, in addition to housing, and in the North Sector and in the South Sector the noble part of the city was created with larger lots, leaving the South Sector as “Sector of Mansions of Gama” intended for housing areas. In the Central Sector, trade is strong, with great movement of people and easy to find establishments with famous names. There is also the so-called Industrial Sector. Theoretically, it belongs to the East Sector, but with civil construction already strongly present at this point and also focused on housing, in addition to industries, factories and workshops, it has been consolidating itself as an independent and autonomous sector.

It currently has nine sectors: East Sector, Central Sector, Industrial Sector, North Sector, West Sector, South Sector, Cidade Nova (Vila DVO), Ponte Alta Sul and Ponte Alta Norte
